Website Copywriter
OpenSupporting a multi-year website redevelopment with tailored, plain-English content for tradies, industry and government audiences.
About the Opportunity
This organisation is undertaking a major redevelopment of its website as part of a broader digital transformation. The new site needs to speak clearly to a wide range of audiences — from construction workers and tradies through to industry bodies, employers and government stakeholders — with content that improves the website experience and provides meaningful, easy-to-find information on programs, support services, and industry research and data.
We're looking for a hands-on Website Copywriter to plan, source, write and edit copy across the new site, working closely with the Marketing & Communications team and liaising directly with internal stakeholders to get content signed off. The role is expected to run for the duration of the redevelopment project, with the possibility of minor additional copywriting tasks along the way.

• Produce a mix of short and long-form content — service and program pages, FAQs, case studies and blog-style articles
• Draft content to fit page templates provided by the website developer
• Repurpose existing collateral into new web content (approximately 60% of pages), and interrogate source material and subject matter experts to write the remainder from scratch (approximately 40%)
• Adapt tone, structure and complexity of writing for distinct audiences, from frontline workers to government stakeholders
• Write copy that is scannable and easy to digest, and that follows SEO/AEO best practice for search engines and AI generators
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies to secure content approvals and keep the project moving
• Take on minor additional copywriting tasks as required during the contract period
About You
• Minimum 5 years' experience developing and publishing content for digital platforms, particularly websites, in a corporate, media or agency setting
• Demonstrable experience planning, producing and publishing content for websites, blogs or online media
• Sound writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style across different audiences and mediums
• Proven ability to write concise, on-brand website copy that's scannable and easy to comprehend
• Working knowledge of SEO/AEO best practice for search engine and AI-generator performance
• Proven ability to repurpose existing collateral into meaningful, audience-specific content
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of securing content approvals from internal teams and external partners
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with strong verbal and interpersonal communication
