Social Media & Content Creator | Melbourne | Hospitality

Hands-on Social Media & Content Creator for a Melbourne hospitality brand. Own on-site content, short-form video, and social publishing.

Job Description
  • Location: Melbourne (on-site)
  • Engagement: Contractor / Freelance (flexible hours)

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Social Media & Content Creator to own content across a fast-growing, premium-casual hospitality brand. This is a replacement role for an existing freelancer and suits someone who can hit the ground running—planning, shooting, editing, and publishing content that builds hype, drives foot traffic, and strengthens brand love.

This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes food and hospitality content, understands venue rhythms, and enjoys being on-site capturing the energy of a busy Melbourne venue.

What You’ll Be Doing

Content Creation (Core Focus)

  • On-site filming and photography (food, team, customers, ambience, campaigns)
  • Short-form video creation for Instagram and TikTok
  • End-to-end video editing and post-production
  • Creating content aligned with campaign themes, trends, and cultural moments

Social Media Management

  • Scheduling and publishing content across Instagram and TikTok
  • Maintaining a consistent posting cadence
  • Community management, including responding to comments where required
  • Supporting and rejuvenating Facebook presence (secondary priority)

Campaign Support

  • Creating content for themed takeovers, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
  • Supporting influencer, brand ambassador, and contra partnerships with content
  • Collaborating with the internal team on campaign rollouts

Future Growth Areas (as the brand scales)

  • Email marketing content once customer data grows
  • Local community and group engagement
  • Supporting paid social content (Meta) where required

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience creating social content for hospitality, food, or lifestyle brands
  • Strong video shooting and editing skills (mobile and/or professional gear)
  • Solid understanding of Instagram and TikTok trends and best practices
  • Comfortable working on-site and capturing content in a live venue environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage content end-to-end
  • Melbourne-based with availability for regular venue visits
  • Contractor setup preferred (ABN, relevant insurance, invoicing capability)

Why This Role Is Interesting

  • Established brand with a strong social presence and clear growth plans
  • Regular campaign work beyond BAU posting
  • Opportunity to help shape the brand’s visual identity and tone as it expands
  • Flexible engagement with long-term potential
  • A venue that genuinely values and invests in quality content

Engagement Details

  • Flexible hours based on campaigns and content needs
