Marketing Strategy Consultant - High-Growth Platform Business (via Cemoh)
Fractional Marketing Strategy Consultant for a fast-growing Australian platform, stabilising Google Ads and funnels in Adelaide and preparing for national scale.
Job Description
- Client: Confidential (fast-growing Australian tech-enabled business)
- Engagement Type: Fractional / Contract (via Cemoh)
- Focus: Marketing Strategy & Growth (not execution-only)
- Location: Remote (Australia-based, Sydney preferred)
About the Business
Our client is a profitable, technology-led Australian business operating a platform model within a fragmented, offline-dominant industry.
The business connects supply and demand through a centralised digital platform and operates using a standardised “storefront” model rather than an open marketplace — meaning pricing, service structures, and quality benchmarks are centrally defined and managed.
The company has successfully validated its model in a single geographic market and is now preparing for national expansion.
The founding team is highly technical, product-led, and data-driven, with strong internal software capability and a clear long-term vision for scaling.
The Problem the Business Is Solving
The industry the business operates in suffers from:
- Structural trust and incentive misalignment between buyers and service providers
- Low transparency around pricing, quality, and outcomes
- Fragmentation and inconsistent standards across providers
- Poor customer experience driven by outdated operating models
The platform exists to introduce clarity, fairness, standardisation, and trust into an otherwise opaque and inefficient system.
Marketing is central to making that transformation understandable, credible, and scalable.
Why This Role Exists
The business has strong product-market fit and early profitability. The immediate priority is to stabilise and improve profitability in Adelaide by fixing and scaling Google Ads + the conversion funnel (landing pages, tracking, lead-to-booking flow), while building organic foundations (SEO/content/lifecycle) in parallel.
Context: Google Ads performs well for VORT tests, while driving lessons acquisition has been inconsistent. The first priority is to stabilise driving lessons performance without harming profitable VORT campaigns.
The business expects to begin national expansion in ~2–3 months, once Adelaide performance is stable.
What You’ll Do
This is a senior, leverage-focused engagement partnering directly with founders. Execution can be handled by an internal team and/or specialists, but you must be able to go deep on PPC and funnel diagnostics to drive fast learning and clear direction.
1) Google Ads (immediate priority)
- Audit and restructure Google Ads for reliability and scale
- Reduce waste (keywords/match types/negatives/geo/ads/bidding/budgets)
- Establish clean measurement from click → lead → booking/revenue (GA4/CRM/attribution)
- Define weekly experiments, reporting, and decisioning
2) Conversion funnel optimisation
- Diagnose and improve landing pages and the lead-to-booking journey
- Drive CRO changes: offer clarity, trust, speed, friction removal, form/checkout flow
- Improve follow-up workflows where bookings are manual
3) Organic + owned channels (in parallel)
- Build a practical SEO plan (local now, scalable for national later)
- Content strategy tied to rankings and conversion (not “content for content’s sake”)
- Lifecycle/CRM basics: email/SMS sequences, lead magnets, referral foundations
4) Expansion readiness (after Adelaide stabilises)
- Outline rollout approach for new geographies and channels
- Define what must be true before scaling locations/spend (profitability + ops readiness)
What success looks like
- Paid acquisition is stable and improving week-to-week
- Adelaide unit economics are clear; VORT maintained, lessons stabilised
- Funnel improvements shipped and measured
- Organic foundations running with a consistent plan
- Clear path to national expansion when ready
What We’re Looking For
- Senior growth/marketing leadership in performance-driven environments (tech-enabled services/platforms preferred)
- Strong Google Ads capability (audit + restructure + strategy) and comfort with real-world attribution
- Strong CRO/funnel instincts (landing pages + lead-to-booking workflows)
- Able to work with technical founders; direct, data-led, and fast-moving
- Comfortable guiding execution via internal team and specialists (not execution-only, not ideas-only)
