Fractional CMO / Growth Lead — Two-Sided Marketplace Launch (Proptech)
OpenPre-launch, AI-powered cross-border property marketplace seeking a hands-on fractional CMO/Growth Lead for 90-day Australian launch — driving both provider and investor acquisition ahead of expansion.
About the Opportunity
Our client is building a pre-launch, AI-powered intelligence marketplace connecting property buyers and cross-border investors with verified property professionals — agents, brokers, conveyancers and buyer's agents — alongside a search and market-data function. The product is built and the go-to-market strategy is defined, with launch in Australia planned over the next 90 days, followed by expansion into the UAE and Singapore.
The business is looking for a senior fractional marketing leader to own launch execution and growth on a hands-on operator basis, not an advisory one. You will set the sequencing, run the numbers, and direct freelance specialists (paid media, content) and any agency partners engaged along the way.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the 90-day launch plan: supply-side (provider) acquisition, demand-side (investor) acquisition, and the sequencing between them
• Set channel strategy and budget allocation across Meta, Google Search and LinkedIn, plus organic and founder-led LinkedIn content
• Build or direct the marketing infrastructure: CRM, automation, analytics and attribution
• Establish the KPI framework and run weekly reporting: provider cohort targets, registered users, and CPL/CAC by channel and by side of the marketplace
• Manage vendor and freelancer relationships, holding specialists to a single coordinated plan rather than working in isolation
• Validate channel performance on lean budgets before recommending scaled spend
About You
• Direct experience growing a two-sided marketplace, with a strong understanding of cold-start, liquidity, and per-side CAC — ideally from an Australian marketplace (e.g. hipages, Airtasker, Oneflare or similar) or a comparable platform
• Startup launch experience with lean budgets, and a track record of validating before scaling spend
• Hands-on paid media literacy — comfortable interrogating a media plan and an ad account directly, not just receiving reports
• Bonus: experience in proptech, property services, financial services, or marketing to a cross-border/international audience
• Prior two-sided marketplace growth experience is non-negotiable — brand-strategy CMOs without marketplace history, even with startup experience, are not a fit
Engagement Details
• 2 to 3 days per week, initial 3–6 month engagement
• Remote within Australia
• Founder-led business with a single decision-maker and fast turnaround on approvals
• Budget commensurate with a senior fractional engagement at 2–3 days/week
