Fractional Chief Marketing Officer Gold Coast, QLD

Five-star Gold Coast resort seeks a Fractional CMO to reposition three F&B outlets, sharpen brand identity, and drive measurable commercial growth.

Job Description

A landmark five-star resort on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Fractional CMO to provide strategic marketing leadership, focusing particularly on outlet-level brand positioning and commercial growth. This role requires someone with genuine expertise in repositioning food and beverage concepts - not just at an overarching brand level, but at the individual outlet level with measurable outcomes.

The Context

The property operates within a larger hospitality group; the parent company manages broader brand positioning. This role focuses at the property level - specifically across three distinct food and beverage outlets (a restaurant, lobby bar, and sports bar), each operating within one of Australia's most competitive and fast-moving dining precincts: Broadbeach.

While the venues have strong fundamentals, they require sharper market positioning, clearer brand identities, and a defined execution roadmap. The business seeks an experienced external perspective that isn't constrained by traditional hotel industry thinking.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conducting an objective assessment of where each outlet currently sits - across brand identity, guest perception, competitive positioning, and commercial performance
  • Determining where each outlet should sit within the Broadbeach dining and entertainment market
  • Clearly articulating what needs to evolve across concept, brand narrative, guest experience, and go-to-market approach to get each venue there
  • Developing individual outlet positioning strategies with distinct identities, not a one-size-fits-all property approach
  • Building a clear execution roadmap per outlet with defined commercial outcomes
  • Providing strategic direction on the overall property marketing direction for the next 2-3 years
  • Mentoring the GM, Director of Sales & Marketing, and junior marketing staff
  • Establishing accountability frameworks so future marketing hires can be properly supported and managed

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience repositioning restaurant and bar concepts within competitive dining precincts - with clear, demonstrable commercial outcomes
  • Deep understanding of F&B brand identity development at the individual outlet level, not just brand-wide
  • Ability to assess guest perception and market positioning objectively and translate that into a clear strategic direction
  • Experience working within or alongside hotel and resort environments while challenging conventional hospitality thinking
  • Strong mentoring capability - you can bring senior commercial stakeholders and junior staff along with you
  • Someone who thinks in outcomes, not just activity

Why This Role

This is a rare opportunity to apply genuine brand reinvention thinking to three distinct venues inside an iconic Queensland property - with direct access to senior leadership and the autonomy to bring an external, unconstrained perspective. If you've successfully repositioned competitive F&B concepts before and want a role where that experience directly shapes commercial outcomes, this engagement is worth a conversation.
